Matthew Potthoff
Assistant Professor of Pharmacology, The University of Iowa

Dr. Potthoff obtained his PhD from UT Southwestern. His research is focused on the physiological mechanisms that regulate metabolic homeostasis and insulin sensitivity. In particular, he is interested in unraveling hepatic pathways that govern systemic energy balance by focusing on known and novel hepatokines. He is funded by R01 grants from NIH/NIDDK. He serves on graduate student comprehensive exams, thesis committee, admissions committee, and is a Co-Director on The University of Iowa Diabetes Research Center Postdoctoral Training Grant.
